Back to Where We Were May 7, 2006
We have finally finished putting all the new foam on, followed by a layer of polyurethane, then the fiberglass and finally the resin. It worked beautifully! We are back to where we were almost 4 weeks ago.
It is looking more like a canoe everyday.
We continue to plug along. Long hours of backbreaking work, but it is so rewarding to see it take shape!
We continue to be challenged…we burned up the saw so have to do everything with a hand saw. The sander also took a dive, so we are sanding by hand. We can’t even find the scissors. So we are using some dinky shears. They are working, but a little taxing.
The hardest challenge of all was the loss of our pet dog Ayla. Some of the neighbor’s dogs killed her. She was literally Jay’s best friend. He didn’t go anywhere without her. This was almost the last straw, but what good would it do to stop now. The hard work helps to keep Jay’s mind off of his sorrow.
We don’t have a new departure date…it will happen when it happens!
