Geomatics professionals have successfully undertaken a covert mission to infiltrate industries across Canada. We're in forestry, urban planning, real estate, and criminology. We're in small business and big business; we're represented at all levels of government, at various nonprofits and in academia.
The problem is, we never wanted to be covert. Geomatics is a growing field that contributes significantly to the Canadian economy and it's in our best interest to be a little more visible. That's hard to do because we're not easy to identify, which makes us almost impossible to measure. So who are we? Who does "Geo" in Canada? #IDoGeo is taking a crack at defining the geomatics sector from the bottom up.
