Alice Rose George worked as a photography editor, curator, consultant, educator, and publisher of books, magazines, and special projects. While not a photographer herself, she knew photography and how to evaluate the quality of an image.

Her career spanned most aspects of photography, giving her an expertise few can claim. Her obituary appeared in the January 12th edition of the New York Times, "Alice Rose George, a ‘Photographer’s Dream Editor,’ Dies at 76."
